Description:<\/span><\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

Performs\nnetwork services from network design through implementation, maintenance, and\nupgrading of existing networks. Analyzes design, specifications, and related\ndocuments. Performs general LAN/CAN/WAN administration. Schedules conversions\nand cutovers. Coordinates with all responsible users and sites to resolve\nnetwork or system incidents. Translates business requirements into\ntelecommunications (e.g., LAN, CAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs\nand orders. Performs engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives in\nsupport of strategic modernization efforts and telecommunications enhancement\ndesign for medium and large\-scale telecommunication infrastructures. Assists\ntelecommunications end users, telecommunications operations personnel, and\ntelecommunications strategic program management with network interfaces.<\/span><\/span>

The\nLevel 3 Network Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:<\/span><\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

  • Optimize end\-to\-end system performance and data\-flow management.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Conduct data captures to obtain network performance information.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Minimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis\nand network performance monitoring tools.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Provide input to the design of the organization's network and mission\narchitecture.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Design solutions, integrate, configure, deploy, test and provide ongoing\nmaintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and\nmethodologies.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Configure and optimize the network to connect various front\-end and back\-end\ncomponents.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Gather needed data to specify system/component performance and interface\nrequirements.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include\nload\-balancing, VPN\u2019s, firewall contexts, Traffic Shaping Voice over IP (VoIP),\nGRE Tunneling, IP Security (IPSec), IP Encryption, Media over IP (MoIP), and\nnetwork address translation (NAT) where appropriate.<\/span><\/span>

  • Configure and maintain the organization's network diagrams and accreditations.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Oversee the support to all network equipment.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Develop designs of the organization's network and mission architecture to meet\nnew partner requirements.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Manage assigned tasks and provide guidance to junior Network Engineers.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Integrate hardware and software to satisfy ISO 9000 requirements and other\nDoD/IC regulations.<\/span><\/span>

    • A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with a Polygraph from the MD Customer is required. No CCA's will be accepted at this time.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • The ideal\ncandidate for this position must have significant Cisco and Arista Configuration and\nsustainment experience. Familiar with Latte \u2018Art and supporting STE/STN and SSP\ncompliance for those devices. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Required to travel as needed and be on\-call for\nOperational systems<\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span>

      Qualifications:<\/span><\/b>
      <\/p>

      • A Master\u2019s degree in Computer Science,\nInformation Assurance, Information Security Systems Engineering, or a related\ndiscipline from an accredited college or university. Ten (10) years of relevant\nprofessional experience providing Network Engineering support and\ntraining commensurate with network engineering curriculum. <\/span><\/span>
        <\/span><\/span><\/li>
      • In\nlieu of a Master\u2019s degree a Bachelor\u2019s degree from an\naccredited college or university in System Engineering, Computer Science,\nInformation Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related\ndiscipline and an additional two (2) years relevant professional\nexperience providing Network Engineering support may be substituted for a total\nof 12 years. <\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • In\nlieu of a Master\u2019s or Bachelor\u2019s degree and addition six (6) years of relevant\nexperience providing Network Engineering support and a Certification in an\nindustry standard (Arista Configuration Essentials, Cisco Certified Network\nAssociate, or Juniper Certification Tracks (Automation & DevOps, Cloud,\nData Center, Design, Enterprise Routing and Switching, Junos Security, Service\nProvider Routing and Switching)) may be substituted for a total of 16\nyears. <\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Certifications: An Information Assurance Technical (IAT)\nlevel I baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01\-M is required or\nability to obtain within 6 months from start date.<\/span><\/span>
