SCOPE OF POSITION
Neurodiagnostic services encompass all technical functions with the Electroencephalography (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), Evoked Potential (EP), and Intraoperative Monitoring areas. The laboratories are diagnostic areas of the Department of Neurology for patients with suspected neurologic injury and/or disease. The EMU is the in-patient diagnostic area for patients with suspected epilepsy. The EEG laboratory is staffed Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with 24 hour, 7 day per week on-call service. The EMG laboratory is staffed Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EMU is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Intraoperative monitoring services are provided 24/7.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the medical direction of a physician and under the direct supervision of manager and/or the lead technologist, prepares patients and conducts routine EEG?s (bedside and neonatal EEG?s) and collects data pertinent to the interpretation of test results or assists with the intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring procedures in the operating room or in the angiography suite; performs sensory evoked potentials, motor evoked potentials, cranial nerve monitoring, peripheral nerve monitoring and EMG monitoring of all extremities including free-running, triggered and CMAP?s during neurosurgical, orthopedic, vascular and otolaryngology surgical procedures.
Minimum Education Required
HS Graduate or Equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience

IOM (CNIM)
Autonomics (CAP)
Basic Life Support Certification
Neurodiagnostic Technologist must Maintain registry (EEG: R.EEG.T / R.EP.T / R.NCS.T / CAP or IOM: CNIM) for employment.
