Position Summary
The Child Care Staff Member is responsible for providing high-quality, developmentally appropriate care for children participating in MISSION Community Church programs, studies, and events. This position supports the ministry’s commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing, and spiritually enriching environment for children (ages 3 - 12) and their families.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care to children.
- Ensure a welcoming and positive experience for parents and guardians.
- Maintain clean, safe, and orderly classroom environments in collaboration with other childcare personnel.
- Facilitate age-appropriate activities using approved curriculum and resources, as applicable.
- Assist with and supervise Bible lessons, classroom activities, and play time.
- Adhere to all MISSION Community Church policies, procedures, ministry guidelines, and safety standards.
- Communicate schedule changes or availability updates promptly to the Childcare Manager.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping and submit hours worked in accordance with MISSION’s payroll procedures.
Qualifications
- Prior childcare experience preferred.
- Ability to work weekday evenings and occasional weekends, based on ministry needs and special events.
- Demonstrated ability to represent MISSION Community Church in a professional manner consistent with its core values.
- Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Work Schedule
- Part-time schedule of fewer than 10 hours per week.
- Typical hours include Monday–Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings; schedule may vary based on ministry needs.
