Salary
Birchwood Lodge:
- £12.75 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Rising to £12.95 per hour following completion of a Level 2 NVQ
Birchwood House – Enhanced Complex Unit Rates:
- £13.00 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Rising to £13.20 per hour following completion of a Level 2 NVQ

Pay Progression and Enhanced Rates
We recognise the skill, dedication, and responsibility involved in supporting individuals with complex needs and reward this through clear pay progression.
Standard Support Worker Pay
- £12.75 per hour – starting rate
- £12.85 per hour – upon completion of the fully funded Care Certificate
- £12.95 per hour – upon completion of a Level 2 NVQ
Enhanced Complex Unit Pay
- £13.00 per hour – starting rate
- £13.10 per hour – upon completion of the fully funded Care Certificate
- £13.20 per hour – upon completion of a Level 2 NVQ

Your Role as a Support Worker
As a Support Worker, you will support individuals with complex needs to live as independently and confidently as possible.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Delivering personal care in a respectful, person-centred way
- Supporting individuals to develop independent living skills
- Assisting with medication
- Supporting people to access the community, including swimming, hobbies, social activities, and days out
- Encouraging new interests and experiences
- Assisting with household tasks, budgeting, and shopping
You’ll be a valued professional working as part of a skilled and caring team.

Birchwood House is a purpose-built, high-intensity specialist service supporting adults with profound and severe disabilities and complex behaviours that may challenge.
Using a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model, we deliver bespoke, person-centred care focused on improving quality of life, communication, and independence.
The service includes:
- Four one-bedroom apartments and four studio apartments
- Low-arousal environments
- Two communal day rooms
- Landscaped communal gardens
- A fully equipped sensory room
Birchwood Lodge
Birchwood Lodge is a specialist supported living service for adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, and complex needs.
The service offers:
- Thirteen modern one and two-bedroom apartments
- A strong focus on independence and life skills

- 24-hour staffing support
- Landscaped communal gardens
- Modern security and safety systems
