Non-Ferrous Operations Supervisor

SA Recycling is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Non-Ferrous Operations Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of non-ferrous metals, inventory management, and daily operations while maintaining our commitment to safety, customer service, and operational excellence. You will be responsible for the unloading, inspecting, processing, and disassembly of various types of non ferrous scrap metal; yard clean up and maintenance; and other general physical labor duties in non ferrous to ensure the highest quality of scrap material is processed and shipped to our customers in a safe, effective manner.

This position will work outside in varying weather conditions, and SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grade and identify non-ferrous metals accurately.
  • Manage non-ferrous inventory to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support non-ferrous marketing and sales initiatives.
  • Lead and assist the operations team in daily activities.
  • Safely load van trailers and dump trailers using proper loading techniques.
  • Operate forklifts and bobcats in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams via phone and email.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel, Rimas, and Power BI to maintain records, analyze data, and prepare reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with other operational duties as assigned.
  • Perform daily inspections on equipment reporting any defects or needed repairs to management

Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, & SA Recycling safety, health, & environmental rules, regulations, policies, & procedures.
Qualifications:

  • Experience grading and handling non-ferrous metals.
  • Knowledge of non-ferrous marketing and inventory management.
  • Experience operating forklifts and bobcats.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Rimas, and Power BI.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and work effectively with an operations team.
  • Ability to learn new tasks as assigned required
  • Knowledge of proper loading procedures for van trailers and dump trailers.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus
  • Must have computer knowlege
  • Must pass Credit/ background check
  • Must pass preemployemnt physical and drugscreen

Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30AM to 6pm, Saturday 7:30-12pm

Hourly Rate: pay is negotiable depending on experience and availablity
