NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST INSPECTOR LEADER
You will serve as a NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST INSPECTOR LEADER in the Nondestructive Test Operations Branch, Nondestructive Test Division of the Quality Assurance Office of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
You will have to obtain and maintain NDT specialist certifications in accordance with the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (NDT).
You will obtain and maintain qualifications and certificates through periodic performance and written examinations by authorized NAVSEA representatives.
You will read and interpret complicated written technical material such as instructions, procedures, sketches, and blueprints.
You will determine when improper NDT and other requirements have been specified and communicate these observations.
You will independently perform complex nondestructive testing and analysis on complex and non-routine mechanical components, piping systems, and structural assemblies related to Naval surface ships, submarines, and nuclear propulsion plants.
You will inspect Nuclear Reactor Plant components and systems such as: coolant system, pressurized piping, pumps, valves, heat exchanger, steam ballast high-pressure vessels, hull integrity weld joints, and propulsion shafting.
You will participates in audits, submit reports and recommendations, and maintains files, charts and status reports on progress inspections/documents completed.
