Summary of Responsibilities:
The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Nurse Manager is responsible for the quality assurance, quality improvement, nursing standards, and clinical outcomes for the department. The Nurse Manager works closely with the operational and clinical leadership providing nursing leadership, clinical input, and consultation to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality customer care in accordance with organizational and program specific policies and procedures as well as applicable laws and regulations. Works as a collaborative partner to facilitate process improvement and ensure that all nursing services are coordinated within the department, across SCF, and in the community. The Nurse Manager provides direct clinical care, clinical oversight, and functions as a mentor and resource for the department nursing staff.
Qualifications:
SCF programs are established for the purpose of serving a primary population comprised of Alaska Natives who are affiliated with the Cook Inlet Region Inc. (CIRI), and Alaska Natives and American Indians within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of the CIRI members, and of the general culture and needs of Alaska Natives and American Indians. Such knowledge is critical in order to ensure the achievement of the mission and vision of SCF: working together with the Native community to provide the best services with Native staff who value the family and family wellness as the heart of the Native community.
- Licensed in the State of Alaska as a Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO and PALS as required for specialty and any certification relating to the scope of practice as required.
Additional Qualifications for Detox Center:
- Three (3) years of clinical acute care nursing experience with a minimum of six months in detox or related service program.
- Obtain Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP) specialty designation within six (6) months of hire.
