Job Summary
Summary<br>Responsible for safe and personalized care to patients in the antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and routine GYN settings.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>Yes<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Provide prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and/or newborn care to patients. <br>-Monitor fetal development by listening to the fetal heartbeat, taking external uterine measurements, identifying fetal position, or estimating fetal size and weight. <br>
-Document patients' health histories, symptoms, physical conditions, or other diagnostic information. <br>
-Provide patients with direct family planning services, such as inserting intrauterine devices, dispensing oral contraceptives, and fitting cervical barriers, including cervical caps or diaphragms. <br>
-Prescribe medications as permitted by state regulations. <br>
-Develop and implement individualized plans for health care management. <br>
-Explain procedures to patients, family members, staff members, or others. <br>
-Order and interpret diagnostic or laboratory tests. <br>

Education
Master's Degree Nursing required

Licenses and Credentials
Midwife, Certified Nurse [State License] - Generic - HR Only required
Experience
Experience as a nurse midwife 0-1 year preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems.
- Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Ability to teach others.
- Excellent problem-solving, case management, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
