About the Role<\/span><\/b>

Sunshine Coast Tubestock Growers\nis seeking an experienced Nursery Supervisor (Nursery Person) to join our team\non a full\-time, permanent basis. This is a senior production role within our\nwholesale propagation operation. The successful candidate will be responsible\nfor advanced plant propagation, supervising casual production staff,\nmaintaining nursery inventory records, and ensuring production output aligns\nwith forward customer orders. The role also involves regular weekend irrigation\nchecks as part of normal operational requirements.

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Prepare and strike cuttings and manage tube production\ncycles
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Monitor plant stock health, growth, and quality\nstandards
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Coordinate and supervise daily propagation tasks across\nthe nursery
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Provide training and guidance to casual production\nstaff
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Maintain accurate propagation, potting, and stock\nmovement records in the nursery inventory system
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Reconcile physical plant quantities with recorded\ninventory data
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Monitor production output against forward customer\norders and report potential shortfalls
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Coordinate packing activities during high\-volume\ndispatch periods, including staff allocation and verification of plant\nquantities
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Oversee preparation of master pack documentation and\nconfirm alignment between physical stock, inventory records, and dispatch\nrequirements
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Conduct regular irrigation monitoring including weekend\ncrop checks
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Collect and prepare propagation material for scheduled\nproduction cycles

Skills<\/span><\/b>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Practical knowledge of plant propagation techniques\nincluding cutting preparation, striking, and tube production

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Ability to identify and respond to plant health, pest,\nand disease issues
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Competence in nursery inventory management and stock\nreconciliation
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Strong supervisory and team coordination skills

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Good attention to detail, particularly in\nrecord\-keeping and stock verification

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Ability to work flexibly across a Monday to Sunday\nroster, including weekend irrigation checks

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Sound written and verbal communication skills for\nrecording and reporting purposes

Experience<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Demonstrated experience in plant propagation and\nproduction in a wholesale or commercial nursery environment
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Experience supervising or directing production staff in\na nursery or horticultural setting
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Experience maintaining nursery stock records and using\ninventory management systems
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Experience coordinating packing and dispatch\nactivities, including stock verification
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Experience conducting irrigation monitoring and crop\nchecks (including weekend operational checks) is desirable

Qualifications<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Certificate III in Horticulture (Nursery Production) or\na related field, or equivalent practical experience
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Additional qualifications in horticulture, plant\nscience, or business management are desirable but not essential
