Occupational Therapist

Job Description:

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our team! This position is working in our Easterseals Gammon Academy, which is a certified special education school for youth ages 9-21 that have educational disabilities. Student populations range from students with autism and other neurobehavioral challenges to students with mild cognitive impairments and students with social/emotional disabilities. Our school focuses on academic fundamentals as well as the use of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to help students develop behavioral and social skills. This skill-building occurs in a structured setting, supporting and reinforcing the students’ developing self-confidence and self-esteem.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting in-depth assessments and evaluations
  • Developing and implementing plans-of care
  • Writing daily and quarterly progress reports
  • Participating as a member of IFSP and IEP team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in the field of Occupational Therapy from a recognized college or university
  • Current Occupational Therapy license by the State Board of Registration in Medicine
  • Three years experience working with youth as a therapist is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours; Monday through Friday 7:30am-3:30pm.

Compensation: $90,000.00 per year
