Off-Site Linen Distribution Technician (Temporary)

We are currently seeking a dependable and motivated Temporary Off-Site Linen Distribution Technician to support operations at our St. Joseph’s Main/East Hospital locations.

This role requires someone who can make sound decisions, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and communicate effectively with both clients and internal teams. If you are committed to delivering high-quality service and contributing to operational excellence, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver clean linen to designated hospital departments using covered carts
  • Collect soiled linen and transport it safely to appropriate areas
  • Verify linen quantities and maintain accurate inventory records
  • Perform routine linen inventory counts as required
  • Address and resolve client concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Communicate linen quality or supply issues to the supervisor
  • Build positive working relationships with hospital staff and provide excellent customer service
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all facility policies, procedures, and Joint Commission standards
  • Operate equipment and perform related duties to support daily operations
  • Complete general clerical tasks (data entry, phone communication, etc.) as needed
  • Adhere to all safety policies and infection control standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED requiredcommunicate
  • 1–2 years of experience in healthcare, manufacturing, or a related field preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and make quick, sound decisions
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Basic computer skills with a willingness to learn new systems

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly
  • Ability to push or pull carts weighing up to 400 pounds or more
  • Must be able to perform physical job duties throughout the entire shift
