Office Nurse/Medical Assistant III Family Practice

Role:

Responsible for providing professional nursing care to the patient under the direction of a physician or health care provider.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Performs general nursing care to patients. Adjusts and/or administers prescribed medication and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and physician/provider's orders.
  • Responds to all incoming telephone calls and patient needs. Interpret patient's symptoms and communicates them to the physician. Assess the patient's needs to provide the best care and advice
  • Collaborates with physicians and nurses to devise individual care plans for patients.
  • Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections, ect) and documents findings in the patient's medical record.
  • Inspect the facility and equipment and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, ect)
  • Maintaining personal contact with patients and relatives, being sensitive to their needs for courtesy, dignity, and privacy and ensuring a friendly environment at all times.
  • Storing and checking medication in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for professional practice and continued professional growth. Attends all in-services and meetings as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time
