Job Description:
While this position is based in Grand Island, it will be expected to travel regularly to license individuals at racetrack/casino properties in Ogallala and Columbus.
Examples of Work
- Provides administrative support to the front desk, including duties such as sorting mail, scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and greeting guests.
- Handles the daily processing of licensing applications, including answering applicant questions, reviewing applications, data entry, obtaining fingerprints, processing payments, and maintaining spreadsheets.
- Coordinates renewal notices to ensure licensees maintain their status.
- Maintains secure files and handling confidential information for applicant records.
- Supports the Commission with additional administrative or operational tasks as needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; or areas related to the programs and functions of the employing agency. OR Experience in customer service or public contact; or applying criteria/regulations; and/or performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including use of personal computers and office equipment.
Other: This job requires regular, reliable onsite attendance. Position requires regular in-state travel that may include weekends, holidays, and overnight stays. Must possess a valid driver’s license. **NRGC employees are prohibited from gambling or placing a wager in any establishment licensed by the Commission.**
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Friendly and helpful attitude.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Proficient in using computers and the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Capable of understanding, interpreting, and applying various rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and laws.
- Must be able and willing to travel to other NRGC locations, primarily Ogallala and Columbus, weekly, biweekly, or as needed.
