Online Math Tutor

This is a remote position.

As a Math tutor, your job duties and expectations include:

  • flexible scheduling for work hours,
  • preparing for classes and lessons,
  • delivering effective instruction to students,
  • assigning and reviewing homework assignments,
  • monitoring and evaluating student progress and growth,
  • and continuously working to improve and enhance student outcomes over time.

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position should possess:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Math or a STEM-related field.
  • Passion for educating children in mathematics and a genuine interest in fostering their academic growth.
  • Strong proficiency in mathematics with the ability to make the subject both stimulating and enjoyable for students.
  • Prior tutoring experience, preferably in a group setting, demonstrating effective communication and instructional skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with young students.
  • Willingness to learn and implement the Singapore math methodology to enhance teaching effectiveness.
  • Background in math competitions is a plus, showcasing a deep understanding and mastery of mathematical concepts.
  • Possession of a good computer or laptop with a camera and microphone, capable of running commonly used online platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and others, to facilitate effective online tutoring sessions.
  • Reliable access to a good internet connection to ensure uninterrupted online sessions and smooth communication between the tutor and students.
