What you’ll find here
Yosemite Lakes Park is a non-gated community in the Central California Sierra Mountain foothills located between Yosemite National Park and Fresno near the unincorporated town of Coarsegold. YLP covers about 10 square miles at elevations from 900 to 2,200 feet, naturally landscaped by oak tree, pine tree, and boulder landscapes, pristine views of snowcapped mountains and the broader views of the Central Valley. All homes are custom-built on 1 acre and larger home sites. There are 2,263 parcels with about 1,870 homes.

YLP is administered by an elected board of the Yosemite Lakes Owners Association (YLOA). Declaration of Restrictions (DOR) are not stringent as YLP caters to people who enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle and the community retains its character by individual pride in ownership.

Amenities include a 9-hole golf course with pro shop and coffee shop, riding/boarding stable, clubhouse with restaurant, lounge and library, swimming pool and tennis courts, a ball field, picnic areas, basketball court, volleyball court, tether ball, private security, storage facility, hiking/riding trails and fishing lakes.


Role Summary

The Front of House (FOH) Manager is responsible for overseeing all guest-facing operations for the Blue Heron Restaurant and Lounge (BHRL), a historic restaurant nestled in the Sierra foothills within one of the region’s largest and most amenity-rich HOA communities. This role manages service across three dining areas – two indoor dining rooms and one outdoor patio space – ensuring a seamless, high-quality guest experience and efficient coordination with a single, centralized kitchen. The FOH Manager plays a key role in supporting and managing front-of-house operations for private events and catering services.

In addition to operational leadership, this role carries shared P&L responsibility for the restaurant and will be involved with annual budgeting and forecasting. The FOH Manager is a hands-on leader who ensures service consistency, staff performance, and guest satisfaction while maintaining a strong working relationship with the kitchen team.

This position reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely with other members of the Food & Beverage team to align departmental goals with the Board’s strategic objectives and the community’s long‑term vision.


Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily front-of-house operations across all dining areas
  • Coordinate service flow between multiple dining spaces and a single kitchen to ensure timely and accurate food delivery
  • Monitor seating, reservations, and table turnover to maximize efficiency and revenue
  • Ensure all areas (indoor and outdoor) are clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times
  • Adjust staffing and floor plans based on volume, weather (for outdoor dining), and special events

Team Leadership & Staff Development

  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise FOH staff including servers, hosts, bartenders, and support staff
  • Set performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
  • Develop, review, and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for FOH operations
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily goals, menu updates, and service priorities
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Guest Experience

  • Ensure exceptional service standards are consistently delivered
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and proactively resolve issues
  • Maintain a visible presence on the floor, engaging with guests and staff
  • Monitor service quality, presentation, and hospitality across all areas

Coordination with Back of House (BOH)

  • Act as the primary liaison between FOH and kitchen staff
  • Ensure clear communication regarding orders, timing, menu changes, and special requests
  • Work with kitchen leadership to optimize service flow from a single kitchen to multiple dining areas

Catering & Private Events

  • Assist in planning and executing private dining events and catering services
  • Coordinate staffing, setup, service, and breakdown for events
  • Serve as the FOH lead during events, ensuring smooth execution and high guest satisfaction
  • Collaborate with clients and management to meet event expectations

Financial & Administrative Duties

  • Manage labor costs by creating efficient staff schedules
  • Monitor sales, service metrics, and performance trends
  • Assist with inventory oversight (FOH supplies, bar items, etc.)
  • Ensure proper cash handling and POS procedures are followed

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards across all dining areas
  • Enforce company policies and procedures
