Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
8–10 years of procurement or buying experience, preferably in EMS, electronics, or manufacturing environment
Technical Skills
Good knowledge of electronic components supply market (e.g., semiconductors, passive components)
Experience with ERP systems and procurement tools
Understanding of procurement processes, sourcing, and supplier management
Basic knowledge of cost analysis and supply chain risk management
Purchasing & Order Management (Transactional Execution)
Create and manage purchase orders (POs) based on MRP/ERP requirements
Ensure accurate and timely PO issuance to approved suppliers
Monitor order confirmations, pricing, and delivery schedules
Maintain strong control of order status and system accuracy
Material Availability & Expediting
Track and follow up on open orders to ensure on-time delivery (OTD)
Proactively expedite critical materials to avoid production delays
Resolve issues related to shortages, late deliveries, and allocation constraints
Work closely with Planning to align supply with production priorities
Supplier Coordination (Operational Level)
Act as the primary contact for day-to-day supplier communication
Follow up on delivery commitments, shipment schedules, and documentation
Escalate critical supply risks to Category Buyer or Procurement Manager
Support supplier performance monitoring through delivery and responsiveness tracking
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with Planning, Warehouse, Engineering, and Quality teams
Support NPI (New Product Introduction) activities through timely PO placement
Assist in resolving GR/IR issues, invoice discrepancies, and shipment problems
Systems & Data Management
Maintain accurate ERP data, including lead times, pricing, and supplier records
Ensure proper documentation and compliance with procurement processes
Generate reports on open orders, shortages, and delivery performance
Compliance & Process Adherence
Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures
Support internal and external audits when required
Adhere to approved supplier usage and sourcing guidelines
