We’re excited to offer an opportunity for an Operational Specialist to join our Operations & Maintenance team in Mullumbimby, NSW on a full-time, permanent basis.
Reporting to the Team Leader – Directlink, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and optimising critical electrical infrastructure. You’ll be trusted to ensure system safety and reliability, diagnose and resolve complex issues, and contribute to the ongoing performance of essential energy assets, all while working within a supportive, highly skilled team.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver preventative and corrective maintenance activities in line with APA’s Asset Management Plans
- Perform High Voltage (HV) operating activities across APA assets
- Investigate, analyse and report on operational faults, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
- Coordinate work activities and resources to ensure efficient delivery of maintenance tasks across the Directlink asset
- Participate in an on-call roster, up to 18 weeks per year
- Support the Team Leader with additional operational duties as required
Your background
- You’re a technically capable and motivated professional who enjoys solving complex challenges and working as part of a close-knit team.
- Strong knowledge of High Voltage systems, PLC and SCADA
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis and repair asset-related faults
- Excellent planning, prioritisation and time management skills
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across teams and stakeholders
- A collaborative mindset and proactive approach to contributing to team success
- High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn systems such as Maximo

The Directlink operations team is a small, highly skilled group within APA, responsible for maintaining HVDC assets at Bungalora and Mullumbimby, NSW.
