Operations & Logistics Manager

Location: Fab Lab – San Carlos, CA

Ready is a remote-first Public Benefit Corporation building the Utility Intelligence Platform that helps governments, utility operators, and consultants manage complex infrastructure programs end-to-end.

As Ready expands its hardware product lines (Hypercube, our field-deployable infrastructure platform, and Portals, our communications hubs), physical operations have become mission-critical. The Fab Lab in San Carlos is the center of our hardware development, testing, assembly, staging, and deployment efforts.

We're looking for an Operations & Logistics Manager to own the operational backbone of the Fab Lab: the systems that move hardware from production to deployment and keep the space running so Ready can continue building. This is a hands-on role for someone who solves problems from first principles and builds the processes that make routine work easy and automatic, all while nurturing a space where creativity and genius can flourish.

This is an onsite role based in San Carlos, CA, five days per week.

About Your Role at Ready ⚡️

  • Own inventory and asset accuracy across raw materials, components, spare parts, and finished hardware, including chain-of-custody documentation and deployment records

  • Coordinate with hardware and production teams to align build schedules with deployment timelines

  • Own day-to-day Fab Lab operations, keeping the workplace organized, functional, and safe, including layout, furniture, storage systems, and staging areas, ready to support production

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for facility vendors (cleaning, maintenance, utilities, security, waste management, and building management), and own maintenance, repairs, inspections, and preventative upkeep

  • Maintain facility documentation, vendor contracts, permits, and compliance records, and ensure adherence to California workplace and safety requirements, including identifying and escalating operational or compliance risks when necessary

  • Track facility, inventory, and logistics metrics and report operational health to leadership

  • Partner closely with Hardware, Engineering, Product, Story, and People Operations teams for onsite events, customer demonstrations, executive visits, and team gatherings

  • Operate effectively in a fast-moving environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy

  • Experience supporting hardware, manufacturing, lab, workshop, production, or warehouse environments strongly preferred

  • Expert knowledge of managing shipping, freight, inventory, or vendor operations via DHL, UPS, FedEx, USPS, et

  • Calm, low-ego, and highly collaborative, with a bias toward action and problem-solving

  • Knowledge of California workplace, safety, or facilities regulations
