Operations Manager (Petrochemicals)

A Singapore-based company that combines trading with strategic ownership of production assets, focusing on petrochemicals and blending components. Due to a new business strategy, they are hiring an operations manager to lead the cargo and shipping operations

Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to Managing Director. The Operations Manager will oversee the execution controls for all post-deal activities, including shipping and logistics, trade operations, hedging, chartering, and trade execution. The position will act as the main point of contact for third-party technical advisors, aligning on product performance and customer requirements. Additionally, the role will lead continuous improvements in commercial operations processes, systems, and internal controls, as well as inter-office coordination across regional teams. The role includes oversight of price benchmarks, hedging decisions, and financial risk assessments.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in Logistics, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in physical commodity trading operations is required, preferably within the energy or petrochemical sectors. The candidate should have deep operational knowledge of trade execution, hedging, chartering, and shipping, and a strong understanding of SDS documentation, product specifications, and compliance standards. Proven experience in managing operational risk, trade finance, counterparty exposure, and price benchmarking is essential. The successful candidate must be a strong communicator and team leader, capable of managing multiple internal and external stakeholders and driving operational excellence across the business.
