About the opportunity

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role spanning both a clinical school and precinct environment within the Faculty of Medicine and Health.

Operating at the intersection of university and health systems, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth delivery of day-to-day operations while enabling strong collaboration across academic, clinical, and health service partners.

You will be a key connector across teams, helping to keep priorities moving, strengthening relationships, and ensuring operational effectiveness in a complex and fast-moving environment.

As Operations Manager, you will lead operational and administrative functions across the Clinical School and Precinct, working closely with senior academic and clinical leaders.

This role requires someone who is equally comfortable managing systems and processes as they are working with senior stakeholders to navigate competing priorities and deliver outcomes.

Your key responsibilities

You will play a key role in keeping the precinct running smoothly by:

  • leading operational and administrative service delivery across the clinical school and precinct
  • coordinating workflows and priorities across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • building and maintaining relationships with external health partners, including local health districts
  • managing the flow of information, correspondence, and reporting across leadership teams
  • preparing key documentation including reports, agendas, and meeting materials
  • overseeing financial processes including expenditure tracking and budget support

About You

You are an experienced operations professional who thrives in complex, relationship-driven environments where influence is just as important as process. While the role is predominantly based in the Susan Wakil Health Building you are willing to travel across Central precinct locations (Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Concord Repatriation General Hospital, Sydney Dental Hospital and Canterbury Hospital)

You bring:

  • experience in operational leadership or professional services management
  • strong stakeholder engagement skills across academic, clinical, or health environments
  • proven ability to work across organisational boundaries in complex settings
  • sound financial management experience, including budgets and expenditure oversight
  • strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to translate complexity into actionable information
