Operations Supervisor

Essential Job Summary:

Site Supervisor is responsible for supervising the post-collections activities in one or more lines of business (operations, maintenance, administration, and EHS). The Site Supervisor oversees laborers, heavy equipment operators, material inspectors, facility maintenance and works with the Operations Manager to implement tactical initiatives to drive functional excellence and budget achievement. The Site Supervisor ensures adherence to all accident prevention programs and leads operations to ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, operating, regulatory, accounting, ethics and other standards. Responsibilities include the execution and delivery of Safety, Customer Experience, and Efficiency while supporting a culture of employee engagement.

Safety

  • Understand and provide leadership to achieve and communicate about safety goals and objectives.
  • Work to remove unsafe conditions or situations at the facility.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to identify and eliminate any unsafe new or existing conditions.
  • Partner with the maintenance department to ensure all equipment remains in working order and in compliance with safety standards.
  • Oversee effective safety and accident prevention programs to ensure all reasonable actions are taken to prevent accidents and injuries; ensure a safe and productive work environment for all employees; implement and maintain an effective safety program.
  • Engage assigned employees in active participation to instill a culture of safety by demonstration of a personal commitment to safe operations and active personal outreach to operational employees.

Efficiency

  • Ensure that all customers receive prompt service and experience minimal waiting times at the facility
  • Understand facility operations goals and meet or exceed those goals
  • Resolve unusual events, equipment breakdowns and schedule changes with timely communications to all stakeholders.
  • Interact with employees to solve and rectify any issues and improve the overall operational success off the facility.
  • Serve as a positive representative of the Company to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty to the Company.
  • Serve as a central source of information and supervision of inbound and outbound scale activities. Supervise scale operators and material inspectors
  • Provide daily outbound materials schedule.
  • Ability to review, processes, and resolve issues as they arise and resolved effectively and diplomatically
  • Review daily performance reports and make necessary adjustments to achieve set goals and metrics.
  • Daily interactions and coaching sessions with material inspectors, team leaders, and equipment operators
  • Daily meetings with the shop supervisor to coordinate operations and maintenance schedules and repairs.
  • Oversees personnel needs of the departments to include but not limited to supervise staff levels (scheduling and overtime allocation), coaching, disciplining, training, and evaluating employee performance

Employee Engagement

  • Create a collaborative, communicative team environment and drive employee engagement with the Company.
  • Build and develop talent on the team, understand employees' career goals and provide coaching to get employees ready for advancement with the Company.
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed or assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bilingual
  • 1-2+ years of experience in waste management operations
  • 1-2+ years of supervisory experience in waste management, transportation, and/or logistics services
  • Driver’s license required
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Salary Range Minimum

USD $70,000.00/Yr.

Salary Range Maximum

USD $90,000.00/Yr.
