Order Desk Associate

At Payzant, the Order Desk is the hub of our customer experience. As an Order Desk Associate, you are the connection point between customers, sales, warehouse, and delivery teams. Your accuracy, communication, and service mindset ensure every order is processed correctly, efficiently, and with care.

In this role, you will support contractors, homeowners, and internal teams by entering orders, providing product information, coordinating deliveries, and resolving inquiries. You play a critical role in delivering a seamless experience from quote to completion.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and accountability matter.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service and Sales:

  • Provide exceptional service to contractors, homeowners, and commercial customers by offering knowledgeable advice on building materials, lumber, hardware, roofing, siding, insulation, and other products suited to their projects.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints, ensuring positive resolutions.
  • Assist customers with project planning, product selection, estimates, and quotations.
  • Process sales transactions, special orders, and customer payments accurately.
  • Maintain current knowledge of products, applications, promotions, and industry trends to confidently recommend solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Gather customer feedback and share insights with Store Management to support continuous improvement.

Operational Support

  • Assist with inventory management, stock replenishment, and product merchandising to ensure product availability and an organized sales floor.
  • Track and follow up on special orders, ensuring accuracy and timely communication with customers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service desk and work area.

Health and Safety

  • Follow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and training requirements.
  • Report hazards, incidents, and accidents promptly and take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of yourself, coworkers, and customers.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of building materials and construction products, or a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Comfortable learning new products, systems, and processes.
