OTC Derivatives Business Analyst

Our client is a leading commodity trading and logistics company. They are committed to building and maintaining world-class IT applications and infrastructure. The Trading IT group directly supports the trading business, and this business has started a far-reaching programme to enhance and improve its trading applications using an innovative architecture to support business growth across the full range of business lines and geographies, and to enable the sharing of systems across different businesses. This programme is aimed at delivering functional capabilities, enhancements, and technical infrastructure upgrades to enable continued business growth and enhanced profitability for the firm. Client is looking to replace existing reconciliation system Gresham with Exceptor which will be enterprise-wide recon platform across FO, MO and BO.
Responsibilities
- Key Responsibilities 1. Business Engagement & Stakeholder Management - Act as the primary point of contact for business users - Engage with front-to-back office stakeholders to understand requirements and pain points - Facilitate workshops, discussions, and walkthroughs with business and IT teams - Build strong relationships to drive alignment and timely decision-making 2. Requirements Gathering & Analysis - Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements - Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for implementation in Xceptor - Ensure requirements are well understood by both IT and vendor teams 3. Process Mapping & Gap Analysis - Document as-is processes in Gresham (reconciliation workflows, matching rules, exception handling) - Define to-be processes in Xceptor aligned with business objectives - Perform detailed gap analysis and recommend improvements 4. Migration & Implementation Support - Support data mapping, reconciliation logic migration, and workflow configuration - Ensure accurate translation of business rules from Gresham to Xceptor - Collaborate closely with IT teams during build and implementation phases 5. Testing & Validation - Define and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scenarios - Validate reconciliation outputs and ensure accuracy of migrated processes - Work with business users to obtain sign-offs 6. Documentation & Governance - Maintain high-quality documentation including BRDs, FRDs, process flows, and data mappings - Ensure traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle - Support reporting and governance activities
SKILLS
Must have
- 1. Domain Expertise - Strong knowledge of OTC derivatives (e.g., swaps, options, forwards, lifecycle events) - Good understanding of trade lifecycle, reconciliation processes, and financial products 2. Business Analysis Skills - Proven experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, and gap analysis - Experience working on migration or transformation programs - Strong documentation skills (BRD, FRD, user stories, workflows) 3. Technical Understanding - Familiarity with reconciliation platforms like Gresham (Clareti) or similar tools - Exposure to Xceptor or data automation platforms is a strong advantage - Basic understanding of data structures and formats (CSV, XML, etc.) 4. Soft Skills - Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills - Ability to work effectively in a co-located, collaborative environment - Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities - Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities

Relevant BA certifications (CBAP, CCBA, or equivalent) are a plus
