ACCIONA Mechanical & Electrical is a specialist division within ACCIONA, delivering end-to-end mechanical and electrical design, construction, installation and commissioning services that support the transition to a low-carbon future.

Position

The Outage & Asset Engineer will play a vital role in preparing for and overseeing the outages and management of asset control at Acciona’s state-of-the-art energy from waste facilities. The role is working with the Plant Manager and the local O&M teams in ensuring the safe and successful operation of all aspects of the facility and achieving both revenue and cost budgets. This role will have the potential to support multiple facilities across Australia as the SME for outage and asset engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development of Operational and Business Processes and Procedures
  • Streamline outage activities through engagement with on-site O&M teams
  • Analysis of downtime and plant interruption data to establish best practices, and execution if lessons learned
  • Analyse plant performance and development of Projects which drive up the value of the business
  • Ensure development & management of an Acciona CMMS system is utilized to manage all assets at multiple levels.
  • Support successful outages by applying operational and engineering principles and considerations
  • Lead on the planning of, and delivery of major annual outages to operational boilers and steam turbines
  • Support O&M teams by reacting to major breakdowns outside of outage periods
  • Ensure the facilities CMMS system is kept current, and asset monitoring and rectification is completed in line with procedure.
  • Explore a range of possibilities and creative alternatives to contribute to system, process, and business improvements.
  • Implement systems and processes that are underpinned by high-quality research and analysis.
  • Accountability for the interface with the Client/Engineer/Third parties during the outage phase’s and into operations

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree within Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction/engineering/operations/maintenance environment
  • Knowledge of waste-to-energy processes
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and waste management practices and ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied
  • Proficiency in using engineering software, data analysis tools, and computer-aided design (CAD) software and MS Office Package
  • Project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering projects including planning and organising work schedules and cost control
