Outbound Warehouse Operations Manager

About the Role

The Outbound Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the internal and external transfer processes. Internal transfers include kitting operations, outbound shipments, and site transfers. External transfers include finished goods, parts for customers and suppliers (RMA, RTV), shipments to customers, and needed internal (intra-company) transfers. Responsibilities include staffing, training, safety, scheduling, order accuracy, outbound product verifications, pallet scans, internal transfers, equipment maintenance, continuous improvement, and loss prevention. The Warehouse Outbound Manager will manage operations that involve managing high-tech AI parts and finished goods which involve establishing and managing processes and controls according to the technology. This role is accountable for establishing and managing KPIs to meet the operational goals of the company. ZT is in a growth mode, and this position will require a leader who can help us define the processes, procedures, and systems necessary to support and sustain our long-term growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintains on-time delivery of outbound shipments by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies/procedures.
  • Uphold a high level of outbound product and parts accuracy by coordinating with internal and external customers.
  • Maintain just-in-time outbound for internal transfers and proactively maintain product thresholds with internal and external customers.
  • Sustain a high level of quality, safety, and efficiency by optimizing employee involvement and teamwork.
  • Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning work and following up on results.
  • Maintain a high level of inventory accuracy through audits and preventive actions.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements.
  • Direct the maintenance of physical conditions and appearance of the warehouse and maintain 5S.
  • Be responsible for recruiting, selecting, and developing employees.
  • Develop employee performance by appraising, coaching, and counseling.
  • Establish safety practices and hold others accountable for adhering to them.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience within Logistics and Supply Chain
  • 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment with prior ERP experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team of 50+ direct reports of full-time and seasonal employees.
  • Experience with the startup or expansion of a warehouse or manufacturing facility is a plus.
  • Prior experience with WMS, Lean, and Six Sigma is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (mainly Word, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Proficiency with high volume transactions with SAP or a similar ERP system
  • Good cross-functional communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - ability to manage multiple projects/assignments simultaneously.
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize and schedule tasks for the most efficient use of time.
  • Knowledgeable of safety practices, OSHA requirements, and 5S best practices.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware structure and hands-on experience with handling computer hardware is a plus.
  • Understanding of pick/pack/ship operations in high volume warehouse environment.
  • Strong ERP implementation background
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
