Job Description:

1.Ensures each patient is identified correctly in the system according to procedure by verifying name and DOB and reviewing Photo of patient in EPIC. 2.Completes the registration process for all patients without error according to policies and procedures established by the hospital verifying the demographic and financial information required for the registration of all patients. 3.Obtains and attaches patient’s photo to the account. 4.Ensures that insurance benefits have been verified, authorizations are complete, and all other requirements of the insurer have been met. 5.Ensures the physician’s order received electronically or paper is compliant, including license verification when applicable and is transcribed/scanned to the account. 6.Checks all tests for medical necessity when not done by the provider’s office. 7.Explains forms to the patient and obtains signatures from the patient for consent for treatment, financial responsibility, Privacy Notice and any other related forms. 8.Accurately scans all documents to the patient’s account. 9.Completes assigned W/Q daily. 10.Prepares price estimate or reviews estimate prepared by pre-registration and explains basic insurance and financial information to the patient requesting deposit for services and referring patients to Financial Navigator when appropriate. 11.Provides directions to the patient or escorts the patient to the testing area explaining way-finding aids. 12.Enters all payments received into the system, provides patient with receipt, completes all processes for posting payments, balancing cash drawer and credit card terminal at the end of shift and delivering to the cashier’s office. 13.Meet POSC Goal each scheduled shift. 14.Obtains 100% MSPQ compliance. 15.Obtains 90% accuracy. 16.Assists in training of new registration associates. 17.Places identification band on patient, verifying the information with the patient and explaining the reason for the band. 18.Assists with special projects as assigned. 19.Provide coverage in other registration areas as requested by Patient Access Manager. 20.Attend Revenue Cycle Academy as scheduled.
