We are seeking an experienced Property & Casualty Claims Representative III to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex property damage and bodily injury claims arising from transit operations. This role is responsible for independently managing a high-volume caseload while delivering exceptional service, maintaining regulatory compliance, and driving timely claim resolution.

The Property & Casualty Claims Representative III is an advanced-level claims professional responsible for handling complex automobile liability, property damage, bodily injury, and general liability claims. The successful candidate will independently manage a caseload of approximately 150–175 claim files involving multiple claimants and exposures, with claim values typically reserved at $25,000 or greater.

This role requires strong investigative skills, sound judgment, effective negotiation abilities, and experience handling higher-severity liability claims through resolution.

  • Independently investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve automobile liability, property damage, bodily injury, and general liability claims.
  • Manage an active caseload of approximately 150–175 claims arising from transit operations.
  • Analyze coverage, liability, causation, and damages to determine claim exposure and appropriate resolution strategies.
  • Conduct claimant, witness, and insured interviews to obtain facts and complete investigations.
  • Review accident reports, medical records, repair estimates, photographs, and other supporting documentation.
  • Establish, maintain, and adjust reserves in accordance with company and client guidelines.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants, attorneys, vendors, and other parties involved in the claim process.
  • Identify and escalate complex or high-exposure claims as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with defense counsel and participate in litigation management activities when necessary.
  • Prepare detailed claim summaries, evaluations, and reports for management and clients.
  • Maintain timely and accurate claim file documentation and diary management.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, client requirements, and claims handling standards.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service while maintaining professionalism and empathy during difficult claim situations.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities necessary to support operational and client service objectives.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred; or
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant claims handling experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience handling automobile liability, bodily injury, property damage, or general liability claims with a bachelor's degree; or
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving automobile property damage, bodily injury, and general liability claims.
  • Experience handling moderate to complex liability claims with exposure levels typically reserved at $25,000 or greater.
  • Prior experience managing high-volume caseloads preferred.
  • Experience within a public sector, transportation, transit, municipality, or TPA environment is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of liability claims investigation and evaluation techniques.
  • Working knowledge of bodily injury claim handling, damage assessment, and settlement practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex liability and damages issues.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound decision-making abilities.
