Be the driving force behind the Commercial Director—keeping priorities on track and programmes moving forward.

Play a pivotal role at the heart of our Major Infrastructure Delivery (MID) business as the trusted partner to the Commercial Director. In this fast-paced, front-line position, you’ll be instrumental in keeping critical programmes running seamlessly—supporting high-profile initiatives such as Coastal Waters, Programme Delivery Partner, and the Major Projects Framework.

Working closely with the Director and senior leadership team, you’ll bring structure, organisation, and energy to a dynamic environment, ensuring priorities stay on track and key activities are delivered effectively. Alongside executive support, you’ll also contribute to project coordination and people-focused processes, helping to drive efficiency, collaboration, and a well-run office function.

What you’ll be doing

  • Acting as a trusted right-hand support to the Commercial Director, managing a complex diary, prioritising commitments and ensuring they’re fully prepared for meetings and key activities

  • Keeping things running smoothly day-to-day by handling communications, preparing high-quality documents and presentations, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks

  • Coordinating meetings, capturing actions and tracking progress to support delivery across the commercial function

  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, confidently acting as a first point of contact and representing the Director in a professional and approachable way

  • Playing a key role in people and organisational activities, including onboarding new starters, supporting internal processes, and helping deliver team events and initiatives

  • Supporting the wider commercial team with diary management, meeting coordination and general administrative support

  • Organising travel, events and logistics, often managing changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Helping maintain an efficient, well-organised office environment, ensuring systems, resources and processes are in place to support the team

What we’re looking for a candidate with:

  • Proven experience in a PA or senior administrative role, supporting senior leaders in a fast-paced environment

  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and pace

  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders

  • Professional, discreet and diplomatic, with strong judgement and a sensitive, customer-focused approach

  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the initiative to anticipate needs and respond flexibly to changing demands

  • Strong administrative and IT skills, including Microsoft Office and working with spreadsheets

  • Experience supporting people-related processes or activities would be advantageous

  • A collaborative team player with a positive, adaptable approach

We invest in our people - as a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to:

  • Personal private health care

  • Generous double match pension – contribute 7% and Anglian Water will contribute 14%, giving a total contribution of 21%

  • 24-hour Virtual GP service for you and your household

  • 25 days annual leave – rising with length of service and the ability to buy more

  • Life assurance (up to 8 x salary)

  • Personal accident cover (up to 5 x salary)

  • Excellent family friendly policies, such as 26 weeks full pay for maternity / adoption leave, as well as 4 weeks paid paternity / partner leave. Opportunity for shared parental pay

  • Bonus scheme

  • Flexible benefits and working culture to support your wellbeing and lifestyle.
