  • Transform ideas into product and revenue as a key member of Sales Enablement Team.
  • Participate in packaging design projects from inception into production for key consumer electronics clients and serve as primary interface with clients to ensure client’s design intent is achieved.
  • Integrate and prioritize instructions from clients, internal account teams, and management to develop packaging solutions that surpass customer expectations.
  • Identify and develop the best possible packaging solution.
  • Assess the information provided by the clients, business development, sales, manufacturing, and project managers to create innovative structural design solutions using the visual and structural integrity and cost-effective manufacturability and assembly.
  • Manage whole design project including design creation, quick turn prototyping of various iterations of the design for review with the client, collaborating with global design and manufacturing team in Asia and India to ensure designs are manufacturable and can be automated easily, and conduct predictive product testing and analyze test data to predict design viability.
  • Design precision packaging in a multitude of formats and materials, including corrugated, folding carton, wrapped corrugated, wrapped grayboard.
  • Create with ease, precision mass production structural prototypes using a Zund/Konsberg cutting table, v-mitering, drop tester, and 3D printers as standard tools.
  • Deliver mock-ups, three-dimensional drawings, illustrative renderings, technical drawings, and assembly instructions as visual communications to demonstrate MP intent to clients.
  • Create organized, clear, and consistent specifications, dielines, and BOMs.

40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m.

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Packaging, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, and three (3) years of related work experience. Must have three (3) years of experience in/with:
  • Client engagement and interfacing directly with clients and transforming ideas into shippable products and revenue;
  • Identifying critical elements, variables, and alternatives to develop packaging design solutions;
  • Structural design of packaging specifically for Precision Consumer Electronics packaging;
  • Structural design experience in consumer product, educational, publishing, retail, consumer products, technology, or pharmaceutical markets; Handling packaging, manufacturing equipment, processes, and capabilities; and Working with packaging and prototyping equipment and processes; including
    • Using a Digital Cutting Table including v-grooving capabilities and 3D Printer and Drop Tester;
    • Working with ArtiosCAD, TOP/CAPE, and Adobe Illustrator Software Programs;
    • Using Adobe Creative Suite and Solidworks/Rhino 3D; and
    • Working with and conducting packing testing procedures such as ISTA, TAPPI, and ASTM.
  • Must have two (2) years of experience in/with:
    • Working with global and multilingual teams.
  • Must be available for daily flexible schedule of engaging with US clients during US afternoon and executing with project teams in India and China in the evening.
  • Up to 25% domestic or international travel required

RRD's salary for this role is $149,573.00/year. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
