JOB PURPOSE



Packing operators in a warehousing environment typically involves the operation of various types of machinery and equipment to facilitate the storage, handling, and movement of goods within a warehouse or distribution center.



CORE RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Operating Packing or Drumming machinery, which can include equipment such as filling machines, sealing machines, labeling machines, capping machines, wrapping machines, and conveyor systems.
  • Setting up packaging machines, adjusting settings, and configuring equipment to accommodate different product sizes and packaging requirements.
  • Monitoring the packaging process to ensure that products are being packaged accurately and that the quality and integrity of the packaging are maintained. Detecting and addressing any issues related to packaging quality.
  • Loading materials, such as containers, cartons, or packaging materials, into the machine, and ensuring a steady supply of packaging materials throughout the production process.
  • Conducting routine maintenance on packaging machines to keep them in good working condition.
  • Identifying and addressing issues or malfunctions with packaging machinery.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of oneself and others in the workplace.


QUALIFICATION



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Having relevant experience in machine operation, particularly in a packaging or manufacturing environment, can be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of filling machines, sealing machines, labeling machines, and conveyor systems.
  • Precision and a keen eye for detail are crucial in ensuring that products are correctly and neatly packaged.
  • Understanding safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment is essential.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with warehouse operations and others.
  • Adherence to industry regulations, quality standards, and company policies is crucial to ensure that products are packaged in compliance with relevant requirements.
