Paralegal II

The Paralegal II is a highly organized and self-directed professional responsible for providing comprehensive legal, regulatory, and administrative support across multi-location business operations. This role acts as a critical cross-functional partner, independently managing corporate governance, regulatory compliance, legal financial tracking, and litigation support. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Paralegal II collaborates directly with internal departments—including Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Local Service Centers—as well as external partners to mitigate risk, maintain licensing compliance, and support corporate legal initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial & Risk Administration: Coordinate with the company’s insurance broker to process surety bonds and Certificate of Insurance (COI) requests.
  • Invoicing: Process, audit, and track vendor invoices to ensure timely operational payments.
  • Litigation & Dispute Support: Support internal legal counsel with claims management and litigation support; monitor customer bankruptcy filings; support the filing of creditor claims; gather and organize records and information for discovery.
  • Corporate Governance: Assist in tracking, updating, organizing, and maintaining corporate documents and legal records.
  • Regulatory & Entity Compliance: Maintain state corporate registrations utilizing CSC; manage and file paperwork with state departments for financial licensing.
  • Cross-Functional Operations: Review advertising and customer-facing materials for the Marketing Department.
  • Administrative Agility: Execute ad hoc legal projects and handle other specialized duties as assigned by leadership to support evolving business needs.

Qualifications

  • Education & Certification: High School Diploma / GED. Paralegal Certification from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of specialized legal education and experience.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of progressive paralegal experience, preferably within a multi-location, field-oriented, or service-related business environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a strong conceptual understanding of legal/relational databases.
  • Core Competencies: Exceptional organizational skills with a rigorous attention to detail; proven ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and act as a resourceful self-starter.

Minimum Experience: 2+ years

Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED
