About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, self-driven Senior or Retired Optical Engineer for a flexible, part-time position. This role is perfect for a veteran professional or retiree looking for a highly flexible schedule, zero commuting, and impactful advisory work without the stress of full-time corporate demands.You will serve as our core technical expert, guiding customer applications and mentoring internal teams.

Work Arrangement & Compensation

• Location: 100% Work from Home / Remote.
• Hours: Flexible part-time hours (to be mutually agreed upon, e.g., 10–15 hours/week).
• Budget: Structured compensation (hourly or project-based retainer) tailored for senior expertise within a lean framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the high-level technical advisor for internal teams and global customers regarding complex optical and laser product inquiries.
• Advise customers on complex product specifications, customized applications, and system capabilities.
• Review, refine, and approve technical documentation, product datasheets, and engineering workflows.
• Provide expert guidance to sales colleagues during critical customer consultations or technical proposal stages.
• Evaluate troubleshooting workflows for optical alignment, laser systems, and optical-mechanical interfaces.

Requirements

• Degree in Physics, Optics, Laser Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive senior-level experience (typically 8+ years) in optical engineering, laser systems, or photonics.
• Deep understanding of optical alignment, laser integration, and optical-mechanical interfaces.
• Strong analytical skills and technical problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills to guide customers and internal teams clearly.
