nxt is the advisory boutique for the digital transformation of financial services and, since April 2026, an independent subsidiary within Zühlke Group. As the Group’s accelerator, we build high-end consulting practices that take clients from strategy through to implementation – hand in hand with Zühlke’s technology delivery teams. Today we are best known for our well-established Banking and Tech Advisory practice and serve over 25 institutes in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

We are now building a second business line dedicated to insurance, and we are looking for an exceptional leader to build and lead it. The practice will focus first on Switzerland, with the ambition to extend selectively into the wider DACH region and the UK later. Within the Group, your natural counterpart is the Zühlke Insurance team, which delivers technology solutions for insurers – together you will offer insurers a seamless path from high-end strategy advice to engineered delivery.

As Partner / Principal for Insurance, you will own the strategy, growth and delivery of this new practice end to end. We are looking for a senior, exceptionally well-connected leader who brings deep insurance expertise, an active network of decision-makers and, ideally, ongoing client mandates. You may come from a senior role within an insurer or from a leading strategy or management consultancy (e.g. one of the global strategy houses).

How you’ll make impact

Build and lead nxt’s new Insurance business line from the ground up – defining its strategy, service portfolio and go-to-market, mirroring the success of our established Banking and Tech Advisory practice.
Win and deliver senior client mandates across the Swiss insurance sector first, then selectively into DACH and the UK – bringing, and rapidly expanding, your own network of decision-makers and ongoing relationships.
Shape compelling advisory offerings at the intersection of insurance strategy, digital transformation and technology – partnering closely with the Zühlke Insurance team to combine high-end advice with their technology delivery for insurers.
Recruit, mentor and grow a high-performing team, embedding nxt’s consultative, rigor-first culture.
Act as a trusted advisor to C-level clients and take commercial ownership of the practice, including pipeline, P&L and account growth.

What’s important to us

Many years of senior experience in the insurance industry – either within an insurer (in strategy, transformation, operations or a comparable leadership role) or in a leading strategy or management consultancy (e.g. one of the global strategy houses).
An exceptional, active network of senior decision-makers in the insurance sector – ideally you bring ongoing client mandates or a credible near-term pipeline.
A proven entrepreneurial track record of building practices or teams, winning business and developing talent.
A deep understanding of the strategic and digital challenges facing insurers, and the ability to translate them into actionable advisory and transformation work.
Principal or Partner-level seniority, with the gravitas and credibility to operate as a peer to C-level clients.
Fluent German and English, and deep roots in the Swiss insurance market (relevance to the wider DACH region or the UK is a plus).
