Patient Service Specialist

Essential Functions
As a Patient Service Specialist, you will:
- Professionally assist providers, staff, visitors, and patients.
- Greet and attend to patients in person and over the phone.
- Register patients according to established protocols.
- Assist patients in completing all necessary forms and medical insurance documentation.
- Ensure patient demographic and billing information is accurate.
- Inform patients of office procedures and policies.
- Maintain and manage confidential patient records.
- Coordinate patient flow through scheduled appointments.
- Answer incoming calls and transfer calls professionally.
- Schedule appointments to optimize provider time and patient satisfaction.
- Prepare daily provider schedules.
- Obtain outside medical reports as requested.
- Collect co-pays and patient payments.
- Prepare reports and statistics as required.
- Respond to requests for information.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail.
- Monitor office supply inventory and coordinate maintenance requests.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
- Complete additional clerical duties as assigned.
- Perform all responsibilities in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Physical Demands

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) or more years of customer service or patient registration experience in a healthcare setting. (Preferred)
