About the Role

You'll own payments and fraud across Dott's European and Middle Eastern markets — optimising conversion, reducing fraud losses, and keeping the payment experience seamless for millions of users. This isn't a siloed role: you'll work directly with engineering, product, finance, and customer support to solve real operational problems with data.

Full-time, pernament and hybrid (3 days/week in the office).

THE ROLE AND YOUR IMPACT

Fraud & Risk

  • Monitor, investigate, and act on fraudulent transactions, chargebacks, and suspicious behaviour patterns

  • Build and tune fraud detection rules and risk-based workflows; stay ahead of new attack vectors

  • Manage chargeback processes end-to-end and drive down fraud-related losses

Payments Operations

  • Own payment conversion rate optimisation across markets — identify drop-offs, improve authorisation rates, reduce failures

  • Work hands-on with PSPs (primarily Adyen) and our payment orchestration layer (ProcessOut) to troubleshoot and improve performance

  • Manage refunds, disputes, and reconciliation workflows; monitor KPIs including auth rate, decline reasons, and retry success

Analysis & Reporting

  • Query large datasets (SQL) to surface fraud patterns, payment anomalies, and operational trends

  • Build dashboards and reports that drive decisions — not just describe what happened

Cross-functional Work

  • Partner with engineering and product on fraud and payment feature development

  • Translate fraud and payment risk clearly for non-technical stakeholders

YOU’LL FIT GREAT WITH THESE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Core Domain Expertise

  • High-Volume Operations: Hands-on experience in payment operations and fraud prevention within fast-paced consumer environments (e-commerce, fintech, mobility, or marketplaces).

  • Payment Lifecycle Mastery: Deep understanding of card payment flows, including authorizations, decline handling, chargeback management, retries, and 3DS/SCA compliance.

  • Proactive Fraud Detection: A strong, data-backed investigative instinct capable of identifying and neutralizing suspicious patterns before they result in financial losses.

Technical & Systems Proficiency

  • Advanced Data Analytics: Highly proficient in SQL, with a track record of building independent, actionable reports in BI platforms like Looker, Tableau, or similar.

  • PSP & Orchestration Ecosystems: Direct experience working with major Payment Service Providers (Adyen, Stripe, Checkout.com). Familiarity with payment orchestration layers is a strong plus.

Business Acumen & Soft Skills

  • Decision-Making in Ambiguity: Proven ability to operate in dynamic environments and make confident, risk-based calls even when lacking perfect information.

  • Cross-Functional Communication: Adept at translating complex risks and operational trade-offs into clear, actionable terms for engineers, product managers, and finance stakeholders.
