Payroll Associate

Job Description:

The Payroll Associate supports accurate and timely payroll operations, with a primary focus on end-to-end payroll and final pay processing for separated employees. This role ensures payroll accuracy, compliance with company policies and labor requirements, and timely resolution of payroll-related transactions.

The position manages payroll-impacting data, coordinates with internal stakeholders, maintains payroll controls, and supports process improvements to ensure a smooth and efficient employee separation and payout experience.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Payroll Operations and Administration

Process payroll and final pay transactions through HRIS Payroll Systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely payout execution

Maintain employee payroll records and perform validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to minimize processing issues and ensure payroll integrity

Prepare payroll reports, trackers, and supporting documentation while identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiency

Final Pay Processing

Manage end-to-end final pay processing for separated employees, ensuring accurate and timely release of final compensation

Review and validate employee separation details including employment status, leave balances, salary changes, deductions, and other payroll-impacting information

Compute final pay components including remaining salary, prorated benefits, unused leave conversion, incentives, and applicable deductions in accordance with company policies and labor requirements

Stakeholder Coordination and Employee Support

Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations teams to gather required documentation and resolve payroll-related concerns and discrepancies

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and final pay calculations, timelines, and payment details while maintaining confidentiality

Provide clear communication and timely updates to support a smooth employee payroll and offboarding experience

Compliance and Continuous Improvement

Ensure compliance with payroll procedures, internal controls, statutory requirements, and applicable labor regulations

Support audit requirements by maintaining accurate payroll records and providing necessary documentation

Contribute to standardization and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll accuracy, turnaround time, and employee experience

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a Payroll Associate, Payroll Analyst, or similar payroll-focused role

Experience in end-to-end payroll processing with exposure to final pay computation

Hands-on experience using payroll systems or HRIS platforms

Strong Excel and computer skills with the ability to manage and validate payroll data efficiently

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Effective communication and stakeholder management skills

Amenable to a hybrid work setup at SCB – Ayala, Makati (2x onsite per week)

Open to a dayshift schedule; occasional night shift may be required for trainings and business needs

Nice-to-have:

Experience handling statutory remittances

Background working in BPO, shared services or multi-stakeholder environments

Exposure to payroll reconciliation, audit support, and payroll process improvements
