People Lead - Americas - 6month FTC
You will act as the central people advisory for Copper's US employees and managers. You will provide employee relations support including grievances, disciplinaries and performance management, monitor and update policies for US employment law, and advise employees and managers to maximise HR self-service. You will run local onboarding and offboarding processes, coordinate background checks and new starter documentation, process benefits changes, ensure people data accuracy across systems, and maintain strict confidentiality. You will drive HR operations efficiencies by improving processes and adopting technology, facilitate people operations queries, and support talent acquisition with hiring and in-person interviews in the New York office.
Responsibilities
- Provide employee relations support for US employees and managers
- Manage grievances disciplinaries and performance management
- Monitor and update US employment policies
- Advise employees and managers to maximise HR self-service
- Own local onboarding and ensure a seamless new starter experience
- Manage leaver processes offboarding and exit interview analysis
- Drive HR operations efficiencies through process improvement and technology adoption
- Facilitate employee and manager queries regarding people operations and benefits
- Support talent acquisition with hiring and candidate meetings in the New York office
- Issue employee lifecycle documentation change letters and leaver letters
- Process benefits change requests including healthcare and pensions
- Maintain accurate people data across systems
- Support Employee Relations Talent and L&D with administration
- Maintain high confidentiality in employee matters and personal data
Requirements
- Experience working in a fast-paced People HR advisor role
- Accurate application of employee data within systems and documents
- Understanding of the employee lifecycle including onboarding and offboarding
- Experience managing a People HR inbox and responding to business enquiries
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Proven ability to operate in a flexible and pragmatic way
- Able to handle confidential information sensitively
- Self-starter able to identify improvement opportunities
- Interest in UK employment legislation and HR processes
- Genuine passion for creating a great employee experience
