£39,392 to £41,953, depending on experience - we also offer an enhanced rate for evenings and weekends.

This role is not suitable for newly qualified nurses or preceptorship nurses.

You will be working on the Male PICU ward. Our PICU services have been designed to support people in a severe phase of illness, who cannot be managed in acute services. Our dedicated PICU services place us at the forefront of specialised intensive care, and our highly trained teams can support people with complex needs and challenging behaviours, along with co-existing issues (such as substance misuse).

At Bristol, we provide evidence-based treatment for a wide range of addictions, including alcohol and drug addictions, as well as behavioural addictions such as gambling, internet and shopping addictions, all delivered as part of our dedicated inpatient counselling service.

Located 5 minutes away from Bristol Parkway train station and 10 minutes away from Bristol Temple Meads train station Nearby motorway network, providing access to the South West, Wales and London.
The post holder will provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care to a defined group of patients/service users, acting as the named nurse and ensuring care is assessed, planned, delivered, reviewed and evaluated in partnership with patients and their families/carers. They will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team and liaise effectively with external professionals and stakeholders to support positive patient outcomes. The role includes maintaining accurate clinical records and incident reporting, participating in quality improvement and clinical governance activities, and ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures, relevant legislation, medicines management policies and the NMC Code. The successful candidate will support and supervise junior, agency and student staff, undertake leadership responsibilities including acting as Nurse in Charge and, where required, Bed Manager or Site Coordinator, and effectively prioritise and delegate work to maintain a safe clinical environment. They will also participate in clinical supervision, reflective practice, continuing professional development and revalidation, while promoting effective communication, professional relationships and the safe management of challenging behaviour.

You will join the team on the PICU ward. In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.
