Job Description

Job Summary**

As a Personal Banker at United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with individual customers, providing comprehensive financial advice, and selling a range of banking products and services to meet their financial needs.

Job Responsibilities**

* Acquire and onboard new individual customers, actively seeking opportunities to expand the bank's customer base.
* Develop and nurture long-term relationships with existing customers through proactive engagement and excellent customer service.
* Conduct thorough financial needs analysis for customers, identifying suitable banking products and services such such as savings accounts, current accounts, fixed deposits, loans, credit cards, and investment products.
* Provide accurate and clear information to customers regarding product features, benefits, terms, and conditions.
* Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately, including account opening, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan applications.
* Meet and exceed individual and team sales targets for various banking products and services.
* Educate customers on digital banking channels and promote their usage.
* Address customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and escalate complex issues to appropriate departments.
* Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) guidelines.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the bank's products, services, and market trends.
* Participate in training programs to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.

Job Qualifications**

* Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role within the banking or financial services industry, preferably as a Personal Banker or a similar sales-oriented position.
* Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
* Strong understanding of retail banking products and services.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Customer-centric mindset with a passion for building relationships.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and spoken). Proficiency in other local dialects would be an added advantage.
* Possession of relevant industry certifications (e.g., FIMM, SC licenses) will be an advantage.
