General Description / Primary Purpose
This is work inspecting and treating buildings and grounds for pest infestations requiring restricted use pesticides.
Job Functions
Inspects building interiors, exteriors, and adjacent grounds for insect or rodent infestations.
Mixes restricted-use pesticides.
Operates and maintains a variety of pesticide equipment.
Assists in fumigations to control pest infestations.
Removes troublesome or dangerous vertebrates as part of a rabies control program.
Prepares daily records on pesticide usage and pest infestation.
During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.

Participate in special event set ups and other work.
Assist with campus maintenance emergencies.
Assist with new utilities installation and maintenance of existing utilities.
Manages work orders.
Raking leaves.
Prescribed burning.

Supervision Received
Close supervision. The incumbent’s work is reviewed by the supervisor for accuracy and to ensure instructions are being followed.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma and 1+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Must meet the requirements of Chapters 482 and 487, Florida Statutes
