Job Description
We are looking for a caring, patient and passionate PG English Teacher to join our preschool team. The teacher will be responsible for planning and conducting age-appropriate English language and early childhood learning activities for Playgroup children.
The ideal candidate should enjoy working with young children, understand their developmental needs, and be able to create a safe, warm, engaging and positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct developmentally appropriate English lessons and activities for Playgroup children.
- Create a safe, nurturing and engaging classroom environment.
- Support children’s language, social, emotional, motor and cognitive development.
- Use songs, stories, rhymes, sensory play, art, movement and play-based learning to engage young children.
- Assist children with daily routines, including meals, toileting, hygiene and rest time.
- Observe, assess and document children’s learning progress and developmental milestones.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials and classroom displays.
- Communicate professionally with parents on children’s progress and well-being.
- Work closely with Chinese teachers, assistant teachers and centre staff.
- Ensure children’s safety and well-being at all times.
- Support centre events, celebrations, excursions and parent engagement activities.
- Comply with centre policies, ECDA guidelines and childcare regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education, or equivalent qualification recognised by ECDA.
- ECDA L1 / L2 certification preferred.
- ACEY qualification will be an advantage for Playgroup / infant-toddler age groups.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Passionate about working with young children.
- Patient, responsible, caring and positive.
- Good classroom management and communication skills.
- Able to work well in a team.
- Prior preschool or childcare teaching experience is preferred.
- Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications may apply.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Enjoys working with children aged around 18 months to 3 years old.
- Able to manage young children with patience and warmth.
- Understands play-based learning and early childhood development.
- Able to build good relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
- Responsible, reliable and willing to learn.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday
5-day work week, rotating shift based on centre operating hours
