Position Summary: Pharmacists are responsible for duties including but not limited to: order entry, accurate dispensing of medications, renal dosing interventions, pharmacokinetic dosing, patient counseling, and supervising students and technicians
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Review orders for accuracy, dosage, safety, drug interactions, duplicate therapy and allergies
Accurately verify and/or enter orders into Cerner
Supervise technicians and students
Attend codes
Perform Pharmacy calculations
Check medication and intravenous preparations for accuracy
Prepare and oversee the preparation of sterile compounds using aseptic technique
Maintain the sterile compounding area using appropriate cleaning protocols and documentation
Adhere to the safe handling of hazardous medication practices
Adhere to departmental and hospital policies and procedures
Participate in cost reduction and inventory control measures
Perform functions using hospital computer systems (e.g. Cerner, Meditech, Pyxis, etc.)
Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits
Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct
Required Qualifications:
Education and Training:
Graduate of an ACPE accredited Pharmacy School with a PharmD degree.
Pharmacist license in the State of Illinois
Work Shift Details:
Various, Days, evenings, weekends, overnight, alternating weekends (roughly every 3rd), various holidaysDepartment:

The final pay rate offered may be more than the posted range based on several factors including but not limited to: licensure, certifications, work experience, education, knowledge, demonstrated abilities, internal equity, market data, and more.
