Pharmacy Technician (80405)

The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist with nonprofessional pharmacy activities. This position reports to the Pharmacy Supervisor. The Pharmacy Technician interacts with hospital employees, volunteers, students, clinic personnel and physicians. The ability to communicate with pharmacy and non-pharmacy coworkers is essential. The Pharmacy Technician must be able to perform routine tasks on their own initiative and recognize additional needs as they arise.

Under the direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist, duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare, package, label, compound, and distribute medications safely and accurately under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
  • Maintain medication inventory by ordering, receiving, stocking, rotating, and monitoring supplies to ensure medication availability.
  • Support pharmacy operations through quality assurance, controlled substance documentation, billing support, and compliance with state, federal, and USP regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment while utilizing pharmacy technology and automated medication systems.
  • Provide excellent customer service, protect patient confidentiality, participate in ongoing education, and perform additional duties within the Pharmacy Technician scope of practice.

Hours/Shifts
64 hours biweekly, with opportunity to flex up to 80 hours biweekly. Primary location for this role will be Elbow Lake with scheduling in Fergus Falls as needed. Option to routinely be scheduled some days in Fergus Falls (including our Cancer Center) if the candidate desires.

Compensation
Hourly wage range: $20.94- $28.86. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.
