Pharmacy Technician
Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting the pharmacist in ensuring that Lowe’s delivers outstanding pharmacy services to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate clearly:
- Receives and verifies prescriptions and refill requests in accordance with Lowe’s policies and procedures
- Accurately enters prescription information using the software provided.
- Accurately prepares and labels medications
- Assist with prescription transfers, faxed prescriptions etc.
- Lead in inventory control: Order, price, enter invoices, monitor expiration dates and order quantities.
- Ensure adequate working supplies are available – ink, labels, etc.
- Assist with processing insurances
- Assist with answering the telephones
- Assist with OTC requests and provide information where necessary
- Maintains awareness of the latest medications and their availability
- Keeps up to date with current pharmacy practices
- Meets at least the minimum requirements for licensure with the Bahamas Pharmacy Council (BPC)
- Be in good standing with the Bahamas Pharmaceutical Association (BPA)
- Keeps appropriate records relating to the discharge of his/her duties
- Executes any other reasonable duty assigned by management
Skills and Educational Requirements:
High school Diploma
At least two years’ experience as a licensed technician
Licensed Pharmacy Technician
Good interpersonal, communication, organization and team building skills
