Phlebotomist

Essential Functions
As a phlebotomist, you will:
- Collect routine, timed, and STAT blood specimens accurately and efficiently.
- Properly identify patients prior to specimen collection following established protocols.
- Provide safe, compassionate, age-appropriate care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Transport specimens to the laboratory in accordance with infection prevention and control policies.
- Collect chain-of-custody specimens when required.
- Answer incoming telephone calls, assess requests, and respond appropriately.
- Follow all hospital policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Support quality patient care by ensuring specimens are collected, handled, and prepared accurately for laboratory analysis.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related computer software.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the workday.
- Frequent use of hands and fine motor skills to perform blood collections.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Essential job functions may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
Education & Experience
- Certification from an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
