Phlebotomist - FT Nights

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.

Properly dispose of used sharps and other bio-hazardous waste.
Collect, process, and deliver specimens to appropriate section of the Laboratory for testing.
Maintain phlebotomy trays and outpatient draw station (restocking supplies, cleanliness, etc.)
Function performed affect the population ages newborn through geriatric.
Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.
Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Required License/Certifications/Registrations

Current BLS/CPR card from approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation, whichever comes first.
Must complete color blind test/screen within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Education and Experience

One year related experience or training.

Preferred License/Certifications/Registrations

Phlebotomy Technician PBT (ASCP).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Basic computer and math skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.

Physical Requirements:

With or without accommodation.

Light Work: Occasionally exerting up to 25 lbs - frequently exerting up to 10 lbs. 11-25% of the day may be standing or walking.
