Physical Inventory Analyst

General Summary:

Responsible for communicating and problem-solving day-of inventory issues with field partners and inventory service to ensure accurately and timely inventory counts. Responsible for data collection, tracking and analysis to ensure correct billing, payments, and optimization of inventory service levels.


Job Details

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day-to-day logging of cancellations, second counts, long run credits and any additional special projects that may arise. Responsible for tracking the completion and/or proper billing of these items and following up for resolution as needed.
  • Performs specific process to review, analyze and ensure correctness of inventory service invoices for payment. 5%
  • Provide support and function as liaison between DG field teams and Inventory service vendors. Communicates with various levels of leadership within the organization for inventory day issues and questions, as well as daily and weekly reporting communications.
  • Processes pre-inventory information and communicates with stakeholders and business partners as needed. Ensures compliance with contractual obligations for the exchange of information with inventory service vendors.
  • Formulate recommendations and solutions to reduce friction in physical inventory processes, measure and report on the results. Ensure all current process and any improvements comply with Sarbanes Oxley and Internal Audit requirements.
  • Utilize multiple internal systems to interpret large datasets and conduct complex analyses on
    DG and vendor physical inventory performance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word; experience with database applications a plus
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize to resolve issues.

Qualifications

Work Experience &/or Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required or 2-4 years of relevant experience may be substituted.
  • Retail work experience a plus.
