Physical Therapist

Performs professional Physical Therapy activities consisting of planning, evaluating, establishing and implementing individual and group treatment activities in a collaborative child- and family-centered service delivery model.

  • Interpret a physician’s referral and select appropriate standardized evaluation procedures.

  • Evaluate patients in the relevant physical therapy domains, including component skills that may be restricting independence and/or participation.

  • Interpret child and family concerns as well as data collected through standardized assessment and skilled observation and develop a treatment plan involving short and long term goals, frequency and duration of treatment.

  • Inform patient and family goals and progress.

  • Maintain a full-time caseload that may include children and families receiving services through insurance, school-based services, consultation, or private pay models of service delivery.

  • May supervise Certified Physical Therapy Assistant(s).

  • May supervise students.

Responsibilities and Requirements unique to this location:

  • Must be willing to take students and supervise at least 2 PTA's
  • Work two days a week until 6 pm - most children will not be diagnosed with vision therapy needs until they are school aged.
  • Understand and incorporate vision development through PT plan of care.
    • Gross motor performance as it relates to vision development
    • Reflex Integration exercises.

Skills, Qualifications, and Certifications/Licensure Requirements


  • Current license from the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Physical Therapist OR eligible to sit for the exam. License must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.

  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.

  • Professional writing skills that include the ability to reflect medical necessity in documentation and communicate effectively on an interdisciplinary team as well as other stakeholders in a child’s plan of care.
  • Time management skills necessary to meet clinic requirements for clinician efficiency as well as documentation and billing timeframes.
