Physician, Anesthesia Chief with EDRP & Recruitment/Relocation Incentive

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Chairs Committee with Surgical representative. Negotiates and coordinates with non-surgical specialty services for block time allocation. Recommend privileges for anesthesiologists, CRNA's and pain management providers. Discusses anesthesia and pain management events and document in SIPRC meetings. Recommend to the hospital administration and medical staff the types and amounts of equipment and resources that are needed for administering anesthesia and pain management. Develop anesthesia and pain management safety rules that follow regulations and standards regarding the safe administration of anesthetics and pain management therapies. Establish/maintain a program of continuing evaluation for staff CRNAs, anesthesiologists and pain management providers. Participates in the Medical Center's program of continuing education and VHA TMS training. Provides consultation regarding the scheduling of patients for surgery and pain management therapies relating to time and place or if a conflict in scheduling occurs. Coordinates with the Surgery Service Line and Nursing Service Line to ensure that staffing resources, space and equipment are appropriately allocated daily to maintain operating room functions and non-operating room procedural locations. Oversees OR Central Scheduling and interfaces with surgical nurse coordinators to ensure OR space and time are properly allocated daily. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
