Physician - Anesthesiologist

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Twenty-four hour on-call coverage shared with other pulmonary/critical care physicians on a rotational basis. An anesthesiologist also serves as a subject matter expert for the facility in airway management, anesthetic/sedation drug management, and pain management. VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System is an intermediate complexity facility with a diverse inpatient and outpatient population Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation for patients of all ages in the perioperative or periprocedural period Serve as an expert in airway management including specialized techniques such as fiberoptic bronchoscopy, video laryngoscopy, and one lung ventilation Use specialized equipment including, but not limited to specialized monitoring devices, laryngoscopes, bronchoscopes, ventilators, and ultrasounds Exercise command of medical and surgical care as provided by law and regulations Participate in quality assurance projects/patient safety initiatives in the department and facility Provide daily guidance on operating room scheduling and flow Maintain confidentiality of all health information and records according to Federal guidelines and regulation Consultations and follow-up in both the outpatient and inpatient areas
